Toshiba Satellite M45 S269.

Well, my girlfriends laptop broke about 2 days ago. Its a Toshiba Satellite M45 S269. So, im thinking that i have a RAM problem but im not positive. The battery is completely shot, so i can't use the laptop without it being plugged in. When i power the laptop on It goes to the toshiba screen, but only once and a while will it actually boot up, and go to the Windows XP loading screen. And when it does, it just shuts off and restarts itself. Most of the time the "Start windows normally" Screen comes on. Ive tried every option there is, and all have the same results. The Safe mode with networking, command prompt, ect. all show the normal drivers run and all that jazz, but then it goes to a blank screen and it flashes the Blue Screen of Death for about 1/2 a sec. then the comp. shuts off. If only i could read what the blue screen error was i could fix it for her, and get all her precious pictures and music off shes so worried about loosing. Ive cleaned out all the fans and all components of it, but nothing seems to help. Im thinking of trying to use the XP disc to boot it, but im not sure how much good it will do. Any solutions? I would really appreciate the help (:

Re: Toshiba Satellite M45 S269.

Two things I need you to do. One, I need you to run Memtest86+ (see link on my sig). Get the CD based program of Memtest so you can run the test without having to boot into Windows. Two, I need you to run HDD test to diagnose your hard drive for errors (see HDD Diags link on my sig). Like Memtest get the CD based program so you can run the test without the need for Windows.
