HP Pavilion DV9700 Display Problem

I have a HP Pavilion DV9700 that seems to have an issue with the display based on the position of the display.

What happens is when open the laptop and put the display about about 90 degrees the display has the pink crystalized look to it. If I push the display all the way back and then move it forward to about 110 degrees it clears up but anytime I move it forward the view will go back to the crystalized look. Also recently the display will flicker to a light yellow color then flicker back to normal.

It seems like whatever connects the display to the laptop is either loose or failing.

Has anyone ever seen this?

Any suggestions would be helpful..

Thanks

I cannot say much about the 'crystalized look' but a pink hue on the LCD could mean a backlight going bad. IMO, it could also mean an inverter failing.
