Laptop fan works, but port on mobo is shot HELP

I have an alienware laptop, and bought a working fan, and hooked it up to another laptop to make sure the fan worked after finding out it didn't work in the alienware.

The fan works, and the fan port on the alienware is shot. I tried the other fan port with the memory pictured, but that port is shot too. I don't want to replace the mobo, and just want the fan to work. Its the graphics card fan, and other then the fan not working the laptop is in excellent working order.

I would like to know what you guys suggest for me to do to get the fan to work other then a MOBO.

I was thinking about using a USB cable, and connecting the colors of the fan to USB, and using one of the usb ports on the side of the laptop to power the fan, but don't know if that will work or not.

Thanks in advance.

Like most teens I don't have money, and I was starting a business, and spent over $30,000 this past year, and the economy ruined everything which I just got out of debt so I don't want to buy a new MOBO.

Re: Laptop fan works, but port on mobo is shot HELP

I just solved this using a usb cable like I had planned. If there is another fix for this that wouldn't be as noticeable as a usb cable going from underneath the laptop to the usb port that would be nice.

Thanks in advance.
