Re: Toshiba Portege M700 problems after reformatting
and welcome to the ForumLook on the Toshiba support website for software download that manages the notebook. You will have to enter the full model number http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/t...p?nav=Download

Re: Toshiba Portege M700 problems after reformatting
Look for a sticker on the back that tells you the full model number . . you can't do anything without that

Re: Toshiba Portege M700 problems after reformatting
the first link you gave me was for a Satellite M55-S1001, and the second one, i've been there many times, i've downloaded loads of drivers and utilities and stuff, all of them installed and some told me to restart, i restarted and there was no difference at all. still nothing works, the tablet mode isn't working, the volume scrolling thing isn't working, FN keys aren't working, touch screen still ain't working either.

Re: Toshiba Portege M700 problems after reformatting
hmm still no work... where can i get the toshiba commom modules? is it the ACPI thing? i downloaded and ran it, a black window thingy appeared then dissappearead and nothing happened.
EDIT: i downloaded from afew other sites, and overwrited the previous files, the one from http://www.downloadsource.net/d16288...es-Windows-XP/ unzipped and stuff just like all the other drivers, but it told me that this doesn't support my system? EDIT(again): Ok this time i downloaded from http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Oth...es-30003.shtml , it gave some version 3.00 thingy, i'll restart my com now and see what it does Last edited by Firedrops; 07-14-2009 at 06:33 AM. |

Re: Toshiba Portege M700 problems after reformatting
Look on the toshhiba support sit for instructions on reinstalling . . it swhould tell you whaat software is needed for the bellsw and shistles.
Your best bet at thies stage is a clean install, followed by driver installation in the correct order. Did you get a Drivers/Resource CD with the laptop?

Re: Toshiba Portege M700 problems after reformatting
You would be better off downloading from toshibas website. Its really quite easy.
1. Click the link simpswr last posted, that takes you straight to the M700 Download page. 2. Look for the box that says "All Operating Systems" Click the down arror and click on Windows XP 3. Download and save to your computer these files and drivers: a. Wacom Dual Touch Driver b. Toshiba Common Modules on page 2 c. Toshiba Controls on page 3 d. Toshiba touchpad disable/enable utility on page 4 e. Toshiba Hotkey utility on page 5 f. Toshiba wireless hotkey utility on page 5 g. Toshiba camera utility on page 1 Install Common modules first, then controls, then hotkey utility. after that then it doesn't matter. Also seeing as you only installed a XP only disc (not the toshiba recovery discs) you may want to install audio, video, wi-fi, and SD card reader drivers also, the newest drivers will be on page 1 and the oldest drivers will be on the last page, so start on page one and work your way back until you find the driver you need. Edit: Or the easy way out, call up toshiba and have them send you recovery discs. Use those and they install the OS and all the other software also, and you only need to update windows. Re: Toshiba Portege M700 problems after reformatting
ok, now the FN keys work, but the volume-scrolling and the stylus doesn't, i'm pretty sure i've installed everything. the toshiba controls however tells me to delete the one that i already have in order to install it, is it the same thing?

Re: Toshiba Portege M700 problems after reformatting
thats how the toshiba software works, it may not be the same thing or a different version, but same name. I would still uninstall it and install the one from toshiba's website.
Did you download and install the audio driver from toshibas website? |
