Cry auto shutdown

someone pls help me............. my lappy automatically shutdown after using for about 3to 4 hrs.....gives a blue screen some error written on it
so what can i do.....my lappy is compaq pressario v6000 os-windows 7
lappy warranty is over someone help me to rectify this prblm

How old is this laptop? Definitely an overheating problem. personally 3-4 hours don't sound bad. If it was 30 Min. fine. Make theres good venitlation in the room and that nothing is blocking the fan.

laptop is about 1and half yr old ........
i put it on abook and leave it for 2hrs it shutdown automatically....
the temp indicated was as im using amd turion core1 temp 40cel core 2 41cel and gpu 67cel and hdd 40cel

iaso had same problem the blue screen error shows.........
i untick auto restart option....... after 2to 3hrs a blue screen appears says a prblm has been detected and windoes has to shutdown to prevent damage
END_OF_NT_EVALUATION_PERIOD
IF THIS SCREEN APPEARS AGAIN FOLLOW THESE STEPS
check new hardware or software is properly installed
if prblm continue disable or remove any newly installed software . disable BIOS memory option such as such as caching or shadowing ....

Does it only happen if you boot up into Windows? How about if you boot into BIOS settings only?
