[SOLVED] Dell 9300 charging question

dell 9300 been sitting for about 6 months works good with power cord pluged in. When I snap the battery in a green light comes on for about 30 seconds and then starts blinking orange --whats up--Thank you

I am not sure but blinking means it is charging, am I correct? Check the Users Guide on what it means. Also may I know why you are running the laptop on AC and with the battery removed?

when i put the battery in the light blinks orange i though something was wrong so i took the battery out and ran it off the power with no battery didn't want to hurt something ..-so you'r saying it charging when its blinking orange

This is what I found --If the battery status light rapidly flashes orange, the battery may be defective. Contact Dell. See
"Contacting Dell" on page 108.
