[SOLVED] Acer C110 recovery problem
Hi
Here’s the deal I have a 7 year old Acer travelmate C110 After formatting and trying to install with my windows XP disk (Not an Acer disk) the install would not accept the windows key, it wants the Acer operating version of XP tablet. I’m now stuck trying to restore the factory settings from the D: Acerdata drive. I have tried Alt F10 on startup but all I get is an alarm and the boot freezes. On the splash screen at startup the only options I get are F2 for setup and f12, for boot options. F12 does not give me an option to boot off of the D drive Also when I installed Xp I changed the file system from Fat32 to NTSF could this be causing me trouble? Thanks for your help Ray |

Re: Acer C110 recovery problem
You need to use the key that came with the disc not the laptop they are different versions of XP.
Can you override it when it asks for the key and install without it. NTSF would not be causing problems.

Re: Acer C110 recovery problem
But that won't work, the disk I used is for my system, if I use my # on her computer Microsoft would never let me do updates and Genuine advantage would give me greef, I need to install fresh from the D: drive

Re: Acer C110 recovery problem
Well I got it to load windows from the recovery partition, what I needed to do was go into setup and enable boot from D2D it is disabled with the factory settings, then reboot and hit F12 to get to the boot options, and there it was boot from D2D, the rest was simply following the onscreen instructions
I have to admit, I'm a bit full of myself right now LOL |
