Re: View Wireless Networks icon is gone after i wiped my laptop

Verify that all network drivers are installed.
To open device manager: start > run > devmgmt.msc

If there are any !, ?, or X
in the list then you need to update/reinstall the drivers or enable the device.

OK, so you need to research and find the driver for your laptop.

Re: need drivers

This model is supplied with one of 3 different wireless cards (Atheros, Broadcom, or Intel)
Please let us know which one you have.

If you don't know, go to Device Manager, right click on the wireless card, select Properties, then select Details. In that window, select Hardware ID in the dropdown box, then copy down the 4 characters after the VEN_ and the 4 characters after the DEV_ and let us know.

Re: need drivers

If it's VEN_14e4 - then it's a Broadcom card.
So download this driver (direct download link): http://global-download.acer.com/GDFi...&LC=en&SC=PA_6

I got it from this page: http://us.acer.com/acer-v2/service.d...CRC=2054404012
