Dell laptop battery problems
Hi,
There is a problem that i am facing with the new battery that i purchased for my DELL laptop. Initially, with my original battery, the battery meter would always flash a warning when the battery power would turn low. That is, i had set the power meter to flash a battery low message when the batter power drops down to 10% and then a critical battery low message when the battery power would drop down to 3%. The battery low message would be visual as well as audible. i.e. an alarm used to go off indicating low battery power. subsequently , when the battery power would finish, the laptop used to switch off on its own. however, using the new battery, the laptop just shuts down on its own , and that too with about 20-25% of battery power still remaining. it gives a visual message for just a second and before i can do anything abt it, the laptop shuts itself off. please note that my settings are still the same as mentioned above. later when i connect my laptop to the AC cord, it shows that is charging from 1% battery power onwards. this is strange as the laptop should flash a proper warning and then shut itself off after the specified low power is reached. can you please advise and help with a solution on this. Thanks, Hormazd |
