The Power Hole Moved
Note: The power brick and wires are fine. Just the power hole itself is 'damaged'.
Well one day, I kind of ran without looking where I was and hit the power cable + the brick with my foot. It didn't do anything to the cable or brick, but it moved the hole where I put the cable in a tad to the left, so that cable now doesn't fit in the hole correctly. It won't fit all the way in and it doesn't 'click' anymore. Like if I touch the cable even lightly, it will move inside the hole and it will stop charging the laptop. Currently, I can still power the laptop by trying to get the metal part of the cable to touch the metal part on the right side of the hole on the laptop, but it's getting harder to do it each day and it also takes like a minute for me just to find the right spot. Is there anyway I could fix it? If not, how much would it cost to fix my laptop? |

Re: The Power Hole Moved
Sounds like the plug inside the hole is busted.
There's ways to do this on the web, but it involves delicate soldering. The price for a fix depends upon the make and model of the laptop. One local shop will fix all but Dell's for $100 to $150 (US)
