Please! Someone help!

Okay so I am DualBooting Vista and Linux Mint, anyway all was well until earlier when I tried to boot back to Vista and I get this messege, ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrupt.

So through linux I went to windows>system32>ntoskrnl.exe and its there, so Im not sure whats going on! And I dont have a Vista recovery disc either as Vista came on my laptop when I boaught it, this really sucks as Vista is my main OS and its the one im familiar with, all my stuff is there aswell!

If anyone can please help me it would be appreciated!

Can you borrow a disc? You will need one to fix this problem.

Re: Please! Someone help!

boot to the recovery screen

it will offer 1 or 2 options

if it only has one listed it will probably give the warning if you continue you will lose everything

if it lists the second option
restore and leave your files intact you can use this option

a lot of laptops now offer this option

Re: Please! Someone help!

you put your recovery disk in and press one of the F keys or just press one of the F keys
it depends on which manaufacturer

you will need to contact the manufacturer for the recovery disks the onl one i know that has them on their site available for d/load is lenovo
