Couple of problems...

Ok, I purchased this Toshiba A355-S6926 about 2 months ago. Everything was ok for like the first 2 days, then the mouse started doing this weird thing where when i would leave the laptop alone for a little while, maybe 10 or 15 min, i would come back and the mouse would prefer to stay rather than move. It moves a little when im trying to put it where i need it, but it takes a couple min. for it to work like it should. I have gotten used to this because it does it all the time, but i tried to download a driver off the toshiba website, and it didn't change anything.

The next problem is a little more annoying. When i leave the laptop for a little while, 10 or 15 min... and i come back, the computer isn't hibernating or sleeping or anything, because thats what i have on my settings. but it looks completely fine, the mouse works..(besides the problem listed above) and when you go over the icons on the desktop, they highlight.

If you have a program open, then the Close, Restore down, and minimize buttons at the top light up just like they are supposed to... everything looks fine, until you click ANYTHING. Then the Processing light at the bottom of the laptop just flashes quickly once every second, and the computer is froze. You can't close the box, escape doesn't do anything(if in a full screen Movie, which sometimes i am, and escape exits the fullscreen, but not in this case), and Ctrl, Alt, Del doesn't do anything, its like the computer doesn't even know im doing anything to it. It just sits there flashing its processing light once per second. The only way to get the computer to restart and change the screen that its on at ALL, is to COMPLETELY remove power from the laptop...

The power button acts like it doesn't even serve a purpose. After i remove and replace power on the laptop, it says gives me the "Start Windows Normally" option, so i do... then about half the time it checks the hardrive, and half it doesn't.. either way, when i log back in, its running like a champ until i leave it alone again... Any IDEAS AT ALL????

Re: Couple of problems...

and welcome to the Forum

Is the mouse behavour you describe with the built in mouse pad or with a USB mouse?

Is this a Vista system or XP . . Does it have all Service Packs and critical updates installed?

What AntiVirus are you using?

Re: Couple of problems...

It is with the mouse pad on the laptop. Im using Windows Vista Home Premium, and it doesn't have all the other crap software installed that came uninstalled. Anything that didn't come installed on the computer is not installed. Im still using the Norton 360 antivirus that came on the computer...
