HP Pavilion DV2000 Wont Boot Up!

Hi Guys! I am fixing my friends Laptop! he said that it worked fine in the morning! then at night we tried to turn it on and it just froze all the led lights turn on and there is no image just a black screen and the weird part is that his battery doesn't hold much of a charge so usually when you unplug the ac adapter when a laptop is on it usual shuts off well his don't shut off it stays on even when there is no juice left in the battery! also when you press led light buttons they should make a clicking noise his don't! it is like his computer just froze out of no where can anyone help! this is giving me a headache thanks!
