Re: Desperate: Need FN key drivers for Sony Vaio FZ140E running XP
Hi dai,
Many thanks for the URLs. Unfortunately I did not find anything that can solve my problem i.e. unable to use the F7 function key (so that I can use an external monitor/beamer/projector). |

Hi well you do need to use the Fn key plus F7 for any monitor changes this site has use of F7:-

Re: Desperate: Need FN key drivers for Sony Vaio FZ140E running XP
Did the unit come originally with Vista? If yes, and it is using XP now, may you should try installing Sony Shared library for XP (it is available if you are using Vista - see d/load links provided by dai). However as per this link http://esupport.sony.com/perl/news-i...EN&news_id=221, not all functions will be available (one of them is the hotkeys or special keys).
Also try this one if it helps: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...d=2738&os_id=7

Re: Desperate: Need FN key drivers for Sony Vaio FZ140E running XP
Thanks everyone. I am now giving up in trying to find a solution. Turns out that I need to have Vista (not XP) in order to get all the functionality offered by the Laptop. Given the current scenario (running XP), I will not be able to use an external monitor/beamer/projector (which is frankly really frustrating).
Thanks to everyone for the replies and help. |
