Wireless problems

I have a sony vaio FE31H notebook which disables the wireless connection and freezes it whenever i go onto anything that involves full screen, such as games and videos. I then have to reset my laptop for it to start working again.
Can anybody help me?

Thanks,
Andy :)

Re: Wireless problems

When you say 'freezes' do you mean the whole system or just the wlan connection? Have you tried another wlan card (just for testing)?

Re: Wireless problems

just the wlan connection
and yeah i have used a different wireless card (which i cant find anymore which is why this is becoming a problem) and it was always fine when i used the external card.
if i turn the wireless switch off at the front of my laptop and use a full screen program and then when i am finished switch it back on it works fine, but this isnt really a soloution as i want to play online games :(

Re: Wireless problems

So you tried another (internal) wlan card and like this one, it also gets disabled when you when you run/play online videos? How about if playing videos right off the CD/DVD drive (and you switch to full screen)?

And I understand this external card works fine? If so, try replacing the internal WLAN card.

Re: Wireless problems

You need a good/working spare card to rule out a bad one. It is sad really that to do a DIY repair you need parts to use. If only there are parameters that you can change in Windows but I really doubt given the problem. If this is a connection issue then may be... but we all know that if changing parameters don't work, it will still boil down to replacing the card.
