Charger problems

I have a HP pavillion DV 4275 nr laptop. I have went through 3 chargers in about 3 years. About a week ago my charger stopped charging my laptop. The blue light that indicates it is plugged in will not come on. I ordered a new one from HP (under warranty) and they sent me just the charger, not the electrical cord or the dongle. It still will not charge and I asked them to send me a new cord and dongle. Also worth noting that for a long time the charger had to be connected to my laptop in just the right spot for it to work. Any suggestions on what the problem is or how to fix it? It is kind of urgent, I have a presentation to give at grad school in two days and I need my laptop.

Thank you in advance!

Based on your post (part quoted above), your problem could be the DC connection. Easy to replace if you know how to open and solder a good/new one into place.
