HP DV6000 Headphone Jack Not Functioning
So..i seem to have purchased one of the faultiest laptops ever in life. I keep reading horror stories about this model and about HPs customer service (yes, most of them are true, trust me). Anyhow, so the first thing i had go out were my internal speakers. secondly, the power button went out. I figured out how to get around turning it on without using the power button but boy was that a pain. When i contacted HP they wanted me to send it in for $300, and then charge more to fix it...uh, no. So i did a bit of research online and came to find that most people resolved this issue with a replacement of a cable that controls both the power button and the speakers. I found it on ebay and found instructions online to replace it--was a cinch.
Now..my issue is that my headphone jack still doesnt work. I was hoping that by replacing that cable, i might fix that prob too, but didnt. Ive tried to do some research on google for any others with that problem but cant find much on solving the prob. Has anyone else come across this?

Re: HP DV6000 Headphone Jack Not Functioning
I am guessing here but problem is headphones do not work when plugged to the headphone jack? Speakers do work and you have tested the headphone in another computer and it is working. Have you changed the settings in SOUND/AUDIO properties in Control Panel?

Re: HP DV6000 Headphone Jack Not Functioning
Although I have limited experience with broken headphone jacks, I believe it is possible that the jack/connection itself may be defective. Have you tried to wiggle the jack while plugged in?

Re: HP DV6000 Headphone Jack Not Functioning
May be it is part of the Audio board (see manual here: http://static.tigerdirect.com/pdf/HP...dv6000_MnS.pdf)
