Re: Overheating with AdobeŽ FLASH PLAYER

Are you OK with opening the laptop up? If yes, open it up, clean the insides and reapply thermal compound. If not, try cleaning the vents/heatsink areas using a can of compressed air. Make sure these areas are not covered/obstructed by any thing esp. when the laptop is in use. Also try to use a cooling pad or elevate the vent areas at least a quarter of an inch from the desk.

Re: Overheating with AdobeŽ FLASH PLAYER

If your laptop is dusty inside this could cause an overheating problem. Use a can of dustoff (air blower) and blow out the cooling fan through the vent on the bottom of the laptop. Also check to see if the cooling fan is running ok. Also if you have a function called 'smart fan' on your bios settings make sure that this is enabled.

Re: Overheating with AdobeŽ FLASH PLAYER

I had open NB and it's completly clear. I think it's softproblem. I am flash player user and this is only one problem. If I'm working with video or with reencoding MPEG or XVID video files, there is no problem, its a bit warmer but normal. For example try to watch this video fulscreen just 5 min. and probably you'll get CPU temp up then 80 and more:

I think it's adobe problem and every hard user has overheating.

Here is temp after 5 min watching of

Voltage CPU : 1.31 V
ACPI Thermal Zone : 90 °C
:
Processor : Thermal Diode
Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile (Core 1) : 87 °C
Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile (Core 2) : 90 °C
:
Hard Disk Monitoring : S.M.A.R.T
Hard Disk ST9160823AS : 35 °C
Hard Disk Seagate FreeAgent XTreme : 54 °C

Re: Overheating with AdobeŽ FLASH PLAYER

IMO regardless if it is Adobe or any other application, computer components really heat up when in use. Of course, GPUs like CPUs heat up faster if you are using video extensively like watching movies or playing games.

Systems also heat up if vents are clogged up with dust. Like desktops, laptops are designed so that air flows well cooling each component. If somehow the air flow is restricted, then you may have problems with overheating regardless if you are using Adobe or not.

My 2 cents is... observe the temps (how low they get) if you are NOT using Adobe or other video extensive application. If your temp is above 50C, your system is still on the 'hot' side. Average is around 40C.
