Inspiron 8500 gets 2 beeps??? when powering up
Hi, My Inspiron 8500 gets 2 beeps when powered up. It will not power up completely...seems to go into a suspended mode with no screen display.
The battery went dead on the last use. I plugged into AC...and tried to repower up. I then got the 2 beeps for the first time. I removed battery and plugged directly to ac...and still I get 2 beeps. I can not even get into the bios or beyond. No Fan noise, but when going through power up, the number lock lights and cd/dvd bay door functions...but that is it. The motherboard was replaced by Dell under two years ago when I had a power problem due to a funky AC adaptor. What does the 2 Beeps mean and what do I do next? Thanks Last edited by pmdunn; 05-26-2009 at 12:32 PM. |

Re: Inspiron 8500 gets 2 beeps??? when powering up
Try reseating the RAM first. If beep continues, try using good/working RAM (replace all the ones installed). If that solves the problem, put back the old RAM one by one so you will know which one is acting up.
