[SOLVED] Neo Basic 2235 Battery issues

Hi I just got a laptop a few days ago pretty much the same time I joined this forums. It is a Neo Basic 2235

Core 2 Duo 2.0ghz
2gb Ram
320gb hard drive.
wifi/lan/modem but no bluetooth.
Vista home basic sp1

Here's the problem, it will only last less than 1hour when watching videos with wifi enabled. When browsing with multi-tabs, it will last around 1hour and 20 minutes. I believe that the bundled battery is the lowest cell possible but I was expecting somewhere between 1 hour and 40 minutes on video or at least 2 hours with normal use. However, I am not satisfied on both.

I also checked the dc input below and it reads 65watts max.
So it is safe to assume that my laptop will use only that much power since it works fine when plugged in the outlet without the battery.

Am I missing something or is this just the way it is?

Re: Neo Basic 2235 Battery issues

IMHO it is possible. I say that because most batteries nowadays are not that longer lasting than their predecessors (UNLESS you upgrade them). If you may have noticed, most laptop makers (see their websites/laptop accessories) also sell batteries that 'lasts longer' than the original that came with the laptop... sort of an upgrade to the battery.

One more thing, common/ordinary batteries are only good for 'normal workload' - lasting for 1.5 to 2 hours (may be) while mobile (no AC available). However if you would like to watch videos, it would be best IMO if you use AC or bigger/high capacity battery.

I see so that's how it goes.

However, seeing that that you are a hardware moderator, maybe you can help me with the CPU-Z screenshot. I'm confused why my Core 2 Duo is read as 1.2ghz while it was rated as 2gb on Vista - Properties. I also get the same with Coretemp 1.2ghz speed.

I hope you can help me on this one.
