ThinkPad T40 White space on screen
There is a one inch wide white patch on the screen.
It is on the right side and begins at the bottom and goes about half way up the screen. I can move my mouse behind it. I can even click on the clock and bring up the pop up box to set the clock. I presume it is the screen and not some left over box. |

Test it with an external monitor just to be sure (also check the connections - video cable and inverter wires)... but yes, I agree with your presumption that it could be the LCD.
