Laptop not charging

Hi there,
I really need yo help, I have an Inspiron 1300 Dell laptop with Win XP, SP2.
I learned it to a friend of mine then she returned it not working at all. I tried to plug in the power cable and it was not charging. I tried removing the battery and work without it but still failed.
What can I do guys? Please help

Regards,

Re: Laptop not charging

Just a clarification... your laptop does not get power either from battery or AC adapter, is this correct? Can you be more specific what happens after you press POWER ON button (ac plugged in and battery installed)?

A few things to do...
1. Check output voltage of AC adapter. Measured voltage should be equal to the one stated on the adapter's label.
2. Test your battery in another (same model) laptop.

Post back what you find out...

Re: Laptop not charging

My laptop does not get power either from battery or AC Adapter.
When I press the power button, nothing happens even when the battery is in and the AC Adapter as well and it is the same battery and AC Adapter that I have been using for the last 2 years on the same laptop.
Thanks

Have you tried these:
1. Check output voltage of AC adapter. Measured voltage should be equal to the one stated on the adapter's label.
2. Test your battery in another (same model) laptop.

If yes, what were the results?
