Laptop DVD-RW drive will not read discs

Hello!

I was burning a CD using the Burrrn prgogram (FLAC directly to Wav) and when the disc was finished it did not eject. This has happened before and I restarted the Toshiba A215 laptop I use. I have burned many CD's for trips and DVD's for home use (in the 1000s) using this drive. When I restarted and tried a variety of discs (bland DVD's and CD's, computer install discs, manufactured CD's) nothing was able to be read. It did make a strange and new clicking noise though. The computer says that the drive is working properly, but I am wondering if it is done. I have already deleted the lower and upper filters as well.

If it is dead I would like to purchase this Sony drive and would love to hear if a kind soul thinks that is a good drive.

Looks like your drive has gone out. The Sony from newegg looks good for 50 bucks and has some overall good reviews.
