laptop halted

My Advent 7109 laptop was working fine suddenly it halted, i tried to restart from task manger. but it didnt came.
i pressed power button for 7seconds, it turned off. when i turned on it stuck on main screen where ''Intel'' is written.

by pressing ''delete'' key it dont show the BIOS, and its not loading the OS. i checked its RAM and heat sinking fan, everything seems to be fine...

can anyone guess what actually the problem is ?

Re: laptop halted

May I know how you checked the RAM? Can you still enter BIOS setup? If you cannot enter BIOS setup, try a new RAM and a new CMOS battery.

I really cannot say. What I usually do to rule out the RAM is replace the ones installed with a good/working module.

Also I suggest you try this first (never mind the title): blank screen

If symptoms remain after replacing the RAM, remove the hard drive and try to boot into BIOS setup alone.

Post back what you find out.

Re: laptop halted

Yep, it is always good to try a good/working RAM first (for this type of problems). If I may suggest, use a spare or borrow a good/working RAM as it would be used for testing purposes only.
