Screen glare problem
A while back, I had to send in my Ibuypower laptop for repairs, regarding a crack in the screen.
When I received my laptop, the resolution maximum was lowered from 1600x1200 to 1440x900, it also seems like the size of the screen was replaced for a smaller one, but if that is so, then the difference is very small. It also looks like they replaced the screen with a much cheaper or different kind of screen, for example, the screen is much too bright, it seems like a glare is on the screen at all times, even when in the dark. Ill be playing Doom 3 in dark areas for example, and pitch black darks are whites and greys, basically making it too hard to play in dark places. Also, colors seem to be not as clear and colorful as before, but that might also be part of the whole white glare I have on the screen. Ive also tried messing around with the brightness, didnt do much if anything. I am not sure how to fix this, or if I need to buy a new type of screen to replace this one, but at the very least id like to know what I need to do to be able to play games like F.E.A.R. without having to squint my eyes. Thank you |

Re: Screen glare problem
Normally on a Laptop there is a Brightness + and - key. By pressing the Shift key and the + or the - key at the same time adjusts the brightness level.
Screen res. Go to the Control panel and look for the Display icon , move the slider for the diff res. There are screen filters that can be stuck to the screen to tone down the brightness. Night time brightness, download a prog called F.lux. ::http://www.stereopsis.com/flux/ |

Re: Screen glare problem
Yeah, I know how to change the resolution, but I said the MAXIMUM was changed, so I can no longer reach 1600x1200.
I will try to get a screen filter and see how that effects my monitor, thanks! |
