[SOLVED] HP dv9535nr Display issues
The Display on my HP dv9535nr is not working. The LED's around the notebook turn on and are not flashing and I can still hear the start up sounds. I tried hooking up to an external monitor and that didn't work either. It is almost a year out of warranty. the specs can be found here. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01062310&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3439698&lang=en# Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is or what i could do to fix it?
Thanks! |

Re: HP dv9535nr Display issues
Hi,
I believe you may have a bad Video Card. The issue with the Video card, it is part of your Motherboard. So the only way to fix it is to replace the Motherboard (About $400.00). See if this applies: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...77&lc=en&cc=us It may not, as you have an INTEL Processor with a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS Video card. The recall is primarily for an AMD processor with a NVIDIA GeForce Video Card. I have seen others who have contacted HP and notified them of the situation. In some cases HP has fixed them for free, but not all. You could try to contact HP and see if they will help. Thanks, Bill Last edited by BCCOMP; 04-26-2009 at 07:48 PM. Reason: Updated link |

Re: HP dv9535nr Display issues
Thanks for your help. HP offered to fix it for about $300 dollars and I get the extended warranty so i guess I'll go ahead and do that seeing as its cheaper and safer than replacing the card myself. Thanks, again!

Re: [SOLVED] HP dv9535nr Display issues
HI,
Glad to here they will help you out a little anyways. I would still pursue the issue though. Just a quick search on the web will tell you you are not the only one! Any motherboard with a Nvidia Video card appears to be affected. There are ALOT of others who are talking about a Lawsuit in this regards. Thanks, Bill |

Re: [SOLVED] HP dv9535nr Display issues
Bill,
I have been going round and round with the people at HP, i have the same notebook, and the exact same issues that E-BO has. I have had absoultly no luck or help from HP, unless i send them $500 to fix it. Do you have any info aobut this lawsuit you mentiond? i would love to get in on that. Thank you! Justin. |

Re: [SOLVED] HP dv9535nr Display issues
A google search will find your answer. This is just one against Nvidia.
http://www.sfmslaw.com/documents/pdf...-complaint.pdf The problem is a class action lawsuit puts money in the attorneys pockets and not yours. You will be lucky to get anything. Bill |
