Cry Acer Aspire: Broken Keyboard & TouchPad

When I turned on my Acer Aspire 6920, this page came up with a black background and white words. I used the ENTER key on the keyboard to select START WINDOWS NORMALLY.

When I got to the login page, I tried using my mouse pad to click on my user. It didn't work! So I had to get the mouse from my computer, and it worked (USB Logitech Mouse).

I went on Control Panel > Mouse to see what was wrong with the mouse. It said that the Synaptic (spell check) Mouse Pad was either CORRUPTED OR MISSING A FILE, and therefore it didn't work.

I tried googling the issue, but the keyboard didn't work as well! I went on Control Panel > Keyboard and saw that the keyboard was CORRUPTED OR MISSING A FILE as well! All the keys don't work! And I tried using Notepad, Microsoft Word, etc. to see if it worked as well.

Before I used the laptop, my dad did. And I don't know *** he did! D:

Any help, PLEEEAAAASEE? I miss my laptop. D:

Re: Acer Aspire: Broken Keyboard & TouchPad

Go into ADD/REMOVE and uninstall Synaptic from there. Also uninstall the device in Device Manager (mouse pad and keyboard). Reboot. Let Windows pick them up during startup. Install the driver (see link below if needed).

Re: Acer Aspire: Broken Keyboard & TouchPad

Hmmmm... if you cannot type anything, how were able to start this thread? Are you using another computer?

If you mean you cannot type anything in your Aspire 6920 laptop, try using a USB connected keyboard. Or download the drivers in another computer and copy it via flash drive into your Aspire 6920.

Btw, you said your USB mouse works, correct? If so, you can still do what I suggested in my last post. I do not think you need to type anything if you just want to uninstall a device in Device Manager and/or uninstall the Synaptic program in ADD/REMOVE and/or do a reboot.
