Do laggy games harm your graphic card??

hi

i bought an HP Pavilion dv6 laptop for school stuff and for casual gaming and i have recently installed call of duty 4 in it

i was just wondering.... is the graphic card being stressed when the game lags a bit?

....and does this harm it as well??

btw the game's resolution is set to 800x748 and GPU's temperature goes up to 61 C

My laptop's specs are: Windows Vista 32 bit
Intel Dual Core T4200 2.00Ghz
Nvidia Geforce 9200M GS
3Gb Ram

thanks for your help

Re: Do laggy games harm your graphic card??

When a game lags, it means that it's demanding more than your GPU can handle, meaning that it's working as hard as it can. Stressing any component constantly will likely shorten it's lifespan, but as long as it's not overheating, it's not going to cause any serious problems. After all, CPUs and GPUs aren't any fun unless you're pushing them to the max.
