[SOLVED] laptop upgrade help

Hi, I just upgraded my computer to a 2.0Ghz core 2 duo, 4gb of ram, ect.

I have vista home premium 32bit, and it only sees 3gb of ram. I was told 64 bit sees 4gb is that correct?

I have a copy of vista ultimate 64 bit lying around collecting dust which I bought last year cause I got a student discount.

Re: laptop upgrade help

32-bit can address 4GB of RAM. Try downloading Service Pack 1, it usually fixes this problem.
Or, you can go ahead and install 64-bit so you can address up to 16 Exabytes of RAM

Re: laptop upgrade help

Thanks for the info.

I just bought Far Cry 2, and have another issue. The game, and all my games I have say my graphics card drivers are outdated. I downloaded the latest one online, and it says it can't install cause its the same driver version that I have.

What am I to do to play games on my gaming laptop? 8800M GTS!!!!!!!!!! DANG waste of money.

Re: laptop upgrade help

That's probably the problem. For drivers try to go to the device manufacturer first before you go to your laptop's manufacturer.
Try this one: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce...9.48_beta.html

Re: laptop upgrade help

I deleted my drivers, and got the ones from gateway again since nvidia's drivers didn't work.

Now the gateway drivers don't work. Something is really messed up with this laptop.

I have 32bit vista so I got it from here:

http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...howtopic=20088

I am trying it right now.

It says nvidia couldn't locate any drivers for my hardware.
