Can't play video files
Hello,
Recently my laptop screen just didn't work for some reason. I have to press hard onto the laptop screen for the images to appear and after 10 seconds it disappears again. I have tried to use an external monitor connecting to the laptop and it seemed to be ok. I set the image appeared on the external screen to be the same as the image appeared on the laptop screen. However when i play any video files except flv files ie avi, mp4... i can't view any image from the players (i tried real, win media, win media classic, vlc, klm player ). I thought it was because i lacked some codecs or something but it wasn't because on my original laptop screen i can still watch the files (although i have to press it hard on the laptop screen to catch any image). Could you please help me ? I really don't know what to do. My laptop is Acer Aspire 4520 |

Re: Can't play video files
If you need to press hard on the screen to make it work then it could be a loose video cable. What part of the screen do you press to make the screen viewable? Most often the video cable runs and plugs on the left side of the LCD.
Btw, if you do not press the screen, is the screen dim (you can still see your Desktop but faintly) or is the screen totally dark/blank?
