Hello all...I am going NUTS here! I hope ANYONE can help.
I purchased a C800 laptop from a reseller that had a bios password on it. (I have seen a number of posts on trying to "bypass" but good old Dell has just about ALL of the back doors closed!) I finally contacted Dell and received the password for the "first" password screen. I am now able to get into the bios, but when I go to reset the bios password and shut this password crap off, it asks me for the "old password" and whan I enter the password Dell gave me it says "Invalid". OK, I am 100% fine with doing some kind of a "eprom" flash or what ever you would like to call it. I am 100% fine with soldering a wire, or using some kind of wire to "reset" the bios or eprom to clear all saved info! I do have an old motheboard and I have found writing that states "CMOS CLR" on it but there is no switch or an area that looks like I can "short" something out to "clear" the CMOS. Does ANYONE know the way to RESET the CMOS! Or reset the eprom? I guess I could use the computer needing the password..but this is for my Neice and I bet you $100 she will call me on a WEEKLY basis for the password! I will try ANY MEANS possible to "reset" this! PLEASE HELP!

Re: Cmos eprom flash dell c800
we cannot help with passwords under the forum rules
all you can do is contact dell again there can be 3 passwords on a laptop to render them useless if the l/top is stolen
