Re: Help trouble with HP laptop
Is this a new install of operating system? Any recollection how and when this started? Have you checked the Device Manager on the status of these devices?
It would also help to include the exact model of your laptop. Thanks.

Re: Help trouble with HP laptop
Hi deanofatz.....
Do u have a desktop computer ? and remove ur hard drive from ur laptop and see if it is sata (2 small black plugs) or ide (small pins)u may need a usb adapter to connect it to the desktop.....u can find cheap ide usb adapters to buy....if u get this far....i usually scan for spyware , virus and malware first then check the disk ...ie right click on the drive that show up in my computer as ur drive, go to properties, click on disk cleanup then when this is complete delete the files that show up....click on tools then defrag the drive when that is finish go to "check now" it will need exclusive rights, so u will have to restart the desktop and do the check disk all over .... If u cannot do this, i am sure u can read right here in the forum and find help, its all about confidence.......try it u will like it........i am sure everyone has a different idea but usually virus is the culprit, hence why id remove the drive from the laptop so as to not have ur drive as the working drive...viruses don't like not been the master ................ Thanks in advance eliang Last edited by eliang; 04-12-2009 at 09:16 AM. |

Re: Help trouble with HP laptop
Can you still boot and connect to the internet? If yes I suggest you run NOD32 AV online scan: http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
Post back if problem remains so we can move this thread to Security Center section...
