Toshiba Memory Upgrade 1405-S151
Received an older Toshiba laptop with 256 MB of ram. Trying to upgrade with an additional 512MB. Tried removing battery and power cord, switching RAM sockets, but it still has a "long beep then two short beeps". If I take out the 512MB, it works fine, but seems to be other issues, that is why I decided on more memory. Tried two different 512MB memories and same results.
Do I need to go into BIOS? If so, what Function key? |

Re: Toshiba Memory Upgrade 1405-S151
Toshiba Satellite 1405 series (AFAIK those with DDR RAM) has a maximum supported RAM of 512MB (with max. supported in socket = 256MB). Try to add 256MB module instead of a 512MB.
