my laptop wouldnt boot
at the start up it simply shows media test failure check cable.... it is a toshiba satellite a135 s2326 windows vista

Does this happen after POST and just before Windows starts? If yes, try to boot from CD/DVD drive using a bootable disc. Also check HDD for hardware errors... use Seatools or Hitachi DFT HDD diagnostic CD (see HDD Diags link on my sig for d/load page). Get the CD image of the diagnostic tools so you can make yourself a bootable CD. Use the HOW TO BURN AN ISO FILE link on my sig for the instructions.
