Have I killed my laptop?
So I think I've killed my laptop.
It's a toshiba, not sure what exact one.. I'm not a computer person. The fan in it sucks though, and it overheats and then shuts down a lot. Which isn't really the problem I'm here about though. It did this while I was in the middle of doing something incredibly important for school that's unrecoverable, I got a pissed and slammed my fist down on it really hard. Stupid, I know, incredibly incredibly stupid. Now when it starts up, there's this ticking noise. And it cant' access my main account and creates a temporary guest account for use, which takes literally five minutes to load. And then goes incredibly slow with everything else. Now I get really stupid, and try a few things with my recovery disc, even though I'm pretty sure it's not a software problem, I've probably messed it up internally or something eh? Well now I get Error : 03-EEEE-0000 with the disc. and when I took out the disc and try to start it up, there's just this blank screen. So, how bad have I messed up my laptop? Is there anyway to fix it, by me preferably - if so, how? or by techy people? or am I completely screwed? It's also still under warranty, if I can't fix it myself tonight I'll take it down tomorrow I guess and see if there is anything they can or will do.. probably leave out the 'hit it really hard with my fists' part though. |

Re: Have I killed my laptop?
Based on the description, it could be hard drive related. The slamming of the fist on the laptop could have damaged also the CD/DVD drive. It is also possible that you may have warped the motherboard affecting the CPU and the GPU thus a problem with the screen.
First check if RAM modules are still securely plugged in their slots. Then try removing the HDD and CD drive before you boot into BIOS setup. Post back what you find out.
