Laptop for college?
Hi I'm Jacob
In September I will be going to college and this will involve staying away from home and at my grandparents house a few days a week. My parents have said that they will buy me a laptop soon because they love me ![]() Only problem is I don't know what would be best for me. They are not willing to spend more that £400 but £350 would be better. I don't mind what screen size but I will be using it as my own computer not just for work so I will watch a few films on it etc. I'm not too worried about what brand. I have a laptop section in my rucksack which fits all size notebooks and won't have to carry it around in hand. I would try my best to look after it but as it could be in my bag all day it might take the occasional bump. Alot of multi-tasking. I always listen to music whenever I'm on the computer or working, I have MSN on alot and like to surf the internet all while working hard of course ![]() I don't do gaming. No calculations except maybe the basic calculator if I don't have mine to hand. I have about 20GB of music and then just room for work on top of that really. I burn CD's all the time, don't need to burn DVD's but like to watch them. At home I have Vista and it looks really nice but your the experts, what would you say is the best OS for my needs? I live in the UK Thanks alot, I followed the laptop buying thread instructions so hopefully you have all the info you need Jacob
