acer dvd not playing

I bought a Acer Aspire 5515. I just tried to play a DVD in it and it wont run. I tried a cd and nothing. It doesn't do anything. It makes a noise like it is trying to do something but nope.

I already have this the way i want it, don't want to have to return it if i don't have to.

Can you still boot with it? Try a bootable CD. If it cannot read discs anymore may be you need a new one.

Try this also: You can no longer access the CD/DVD drive or Code 31 or Code 37

Yes it boots up and runs good other then not playing cd's or dvd's. The laptop did not come with a disk, not sure what other bootable cd you would be talking about.

I ended up taking it back to best buy and they had to send it away to have replaced.
