CMOS battery

Hi I'm getting this message each time I turn on my laptop:

cmos checksum invalid

and I google the problem and most of the sites say its faulty cmos battery. My question is: where is the cmos battery located and what kind.

any assistance is appreciated.

Re: CMOS battery

AFAIK it is located in the motherboard. Get a service manual for your brand/model to help you locate exactly the CMOS. The manual may help tell you also what kind of CMOS battery you need.

Re: CMOS battery

Download a service manual to guide you for the location and replacement. Try the Seanix website may be they have it for download like HP/COMPAQ, DELL and IBM.

EDIT:
I checked with Seanix website and it is not much of a help. No hits in Google. I suggest you contact Seanix as they do not have any information available publicly.
