Display shows only a dots in a square pattern.

My HP laptop's display only shows a pattern of dots in a large square when I start it up. There is a flashing cursor in the top left corner of the dots. The cursor does not react to any keyboard operations. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do these appear when you go into BIOS setup? If they do, do they appear if you use an external monitor?

It happens when I turn it on. I can't get to the BIOS or anything else. I changed out the processor. It didn't work.

Looks like you have a faulty video card. What model of HP is this?

Based on this service manual, video card/chip is integrated in the mobo. You will need to replace the mobo or have the motherboard fixed to solve the issue.
