[SOLVED] Evesham Laptop-Locking the touchpad
I've had this laptop for some time, it's an Evesham with AMD Turion 64 and 1.58 GHZ, 1GB RAM. As far as I can see there are no applets for touchpad management. I would like to know if/how I can lock the touchpad while I'm working as I keep accidentally moving around my documents!
Thanks David |

Re: Evesham Laptop-Locking the touchpad
Hi David,
Some brands have a switch to lock the touchpad. If yours doesn't have one, may be you can just disable it from the Device Manager. May be you can also try to see mouse/touchpad controls in Control Panel.

Re: Evesham Laptop-Locking the touchpad
Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have a lock on the machine and i'm not sure which device the touchpad is in device manager(i use a plug in usb mouse when at home as well). I'm not sure that disabling the touchpad will help if i'm sat on the couch and i only want it off while i'm writing a document. it seems like a step too far-on the other hand it is really annoying if the pointer moves while you're typing!

Re: Evesham Laptop-Locking the touchpad
Try in Control Panel... Open touchpad properties... may be there is a sensitivity adjustment there.

Thanks for your help TriggerFinger. The mouse applet in Control Panel doubles for the touch pad and for the notebook mouse. So I've put a shortcut in and I can turn down the pointer sensitivity when I'm working in a document.
