X57 Philips laptop screen colour diagonal line distortion

I have a X57 Philips laptop and in the last 2 days the screen is showing a constant colour distortion. By this I mean diagonal colours (wide) lines running through the screen.

The screen works fine using an external monitor or tv, so I imagine its not the graphics card.

What can I do to fix this problem?

Do the colors show up once Windows starts? Another way of putting it... do they appear if for example you go into BIOS Setup?

Re: X57 Philips laptop screen colour diagonal line distortion

Yes they are there as soon as windows starts up. . On any text load up such as the Bios setup and windows loading up screen. .

On just black you see nothing but on any other colour you see the pix elation and diagonal lines through the screen. . They seem to be constant with out change. .

Any ideas.

I need you to go into BIOS setup menu. Navigate thru the BIOS setup pages... are they showing the same symptoms?

Re: X57 Philips laptop screen colour diagonal line distortion

So unusual colored diagonal lines on screen are present in Windows and even in BIOS setup menus... but not in external monitor?

If that is the case then it could be a failing LCD. You may check the video cables for defect you must also consider LCD replacement.

Re: X57 Philips laptop screen colour diagonal line distortion

Hey there thanks for the advice,

just to update you the screen went black with dark grey shadow appearing. . Now im trying to find someone to take a look at it. . but found no one not even Philips will look at it or fix it. . Now stuck without a clue of getting a new LCD screen or some one to repair it. .

Any advice

I suggest you bring it to a repair shop and have it diagnosed. They can also repair it or replace it. Either way you get the service that you need.
