Re: windows does not recognise any device.!
From what I've read, the problem seems to be with the system board. And since you've tried reformatting and the problem remains, it's most likely a hardware problem. If your laptop is still under warranty, you will probably need to have it repaired.
Edit: Another solution that seemed to work for some people was to buy a PCMCIA-USB card. You install this card into the PC slot on your laptop and get 2 or 4 USB ports.

Re: windows does not recognise any device.!
The simplest solution I've come across is getting a USB card. You can buy them online or any PC store would probably have them. They should only run you up 20$ or so.

Re: windows does not recognise any device.!
Hi,
In the image you uploaded, SM Bus controller is marked yellow. May be it has something to do with the problem. Right-click on that device, select Properties, click on DETAILS tab and post back with the DEVICE INSTANCE ID.

Re: windows does not recognise any device.!
Get the Properties of the device with yellow mark in Device Manager. What is the status of the device as shown on the General tab?

Post back what happens. EDIT: If that does not help, d/load chipset driver from here: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers...k/tm_5510.html Install the chipset driver, reboot and check in Device Manager again.

Re: windows does not recognise any device.!
Follow the steps here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/241257 In Device Manager again, click View and select Show Hidden Devices. Go thru the list of devices until you reach the USB part. Remove/Uninstall all the devices under Universal Bus Controller. Shutdown. Power ON the computer. Check in Device Manager if you have yellow/red/unknown devices. If you do, reboot. If not, test your USB port. If still NO GO, check with laptop maker's website for any update in BIOS.
