Vista keeps losing my printer

Hello I recently went mad and replaced my laptop. The old one had XP the new one a Compaq CQ60 has Vista. I downloaded the software and drivers for my HP C3180 Printer. All goes well but every so often I get a blue screen with a message saying Bug Code error!!!!! And I lose contact with the printer. I have managed to get it back"at the moment".

What's the reason???

Any help Appreciated.
Thank you

Re: Vista keeps losing my printer

Did you use the s/w from the supplied disc or d/l it from HP?

I've found that sometimes one works better than the other - so worth trying both for your particular machine.

(I have an HP printer and it's a PITA)

You get a BSOD and after reboot you cannot connect to the printer anymore?
