Acer 5100-5023 Laptop Video Display Issue

I have noticed my screen now has littl blue lines in it, not pixels, but places that should be white or light colored, now have blue lines or blue tint on them. Is the monitor going out, or is there something that can be fixed. I have had the laptop for a year and a half now. Would this be caused by me having the laptop open and the screen being on for long periods of time??

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is a failing LCD. Try using an external monitor and see if blue lines appear on the monitor too.

Is there anything else I can do?? Do I just have to live with it?? It appears on an external monitor to be fine....

Yes there is.. replace the LCD.

I am not computer saavy at all, what does that run cost wise?
