Learning to take apart laptops to repair power jacks. Question please.
I own and run a local computer repair shop in town. We are good, but we always send off all the laptops that need power jack repairs to another computer business because we do not know how to take them apart.
I am loosing lots of money subing out this work. I am trying to learn, but it seems like every laptop comes apart in so many different ways. Is there a place to go on the web that shows this info, a reference? Before messing up a customer's laptop, I am looking at my own Toshiba A70-S249 that has a loose power jack. How do I find out how to properly remove the motherboard? |

Re: Learning to take apart laptops to repair power jacks. Question please.
What you need is a service manual. Dell has great ones, hp/compaq is pretty good too. Those two are very easy to find. Others vary, but Acer keeps theirs secret, I don't think I've yet to find one from Acer. Just google the manufacturer and model and service manual. Tried a quick search for yours, but didn't have much luck at Toshiba, though I'm sure I've found some in the past. Searched your model and didn't get any results on the toshiba canada site. Odd, that.
