HP G50-219CA Notebook PC

Hello.
We just recently bought our first laptop/notebook...
It's a HP G50-219CA Notebook PC and it has 3G RAM for around 599.00
I am unable to find any user reviews on it! Anyone?
It downloads very slow and we are not gamers. I deleted Norton, which came
as a trial with it and that speeded things up a bit, cleaned up, and I have to defrag every night to keep it's speed up. Still downloadings extremely slow.
Also I downloaded Vista Upgrade Adviser and it said:
Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family Intel Corporation
This device will not work in Windows Vista. For more information, please go to the device manufacturer's website, Windows Marketplace, or contact your retailer.
I chatted with the HP Tech and he gave me an update for the Bios and said if that doesn't help to do a full system recovery. We just bought it!!!
1. I would like to know if we bought a Lemon because we can still return it as it has been less than a week.
2. Does someone change the names of HP computers when they get to Canada?
3. Is what Windows Vista Upgrade Adviser said a concern?
4. How can I speed up this machine?

Thank you!!!

1. I would like to know if we bought a Lemon because we can still return it as it has been less than a week. -- If downloading speed is your concern, may be there is also a problem with your ISP. ISP providers set this for you and your computer will only work with what is allocated to you.

2. Does someone change the names of HP computers when they get to Canada? --

3. Is what Windows Vista Upgrade Adviser said a concern? -- Did it come with Vista? If it came with XP, then the message could be right. It could be that some of the hardware may not be compatible with Vista. On the other hand it could also be a glitch in the adviser program.

4. How can I speed up this machine? -- update the BIOS as suggested by the HP tech. If it does not work, by all means return it.

Thank you!!!

Try updating intel drivers from here (select your OS first):

Re: HP G50-219CA Notebook PC

I downloaded the first link. While downloading it switched to an earlier version number...I am guessing from 7....something to 6....Hopefully this will work. What is your opinion?
Thank you.
