Using a projector.....

with a Lenovo laptop running Windows Vista Basic. I have a Internet Safety DVD that I usually show to my kids in school but cannot get it to work on my new computer. I can see the dvd on my computer monitor while not connected to the Dell projector but as soon as I connect the video cable to the laptop and projector it will not play. Is there a setting within the video hookup that is preventing me from showing this dvd?
I am showing the dvd right now on a HP machine with XP on it, therefore I know that it can be done but wondered if anyone had experience with a Lenovo product.
Thanks,

Re: Using a projector.....

Yes, everything seems to work correctly but the playing of the dvd. The dvd does play when the projector is not connected but when connected it does not play. It just kind of hangs up there.
