My laptop keeps crashing please help!

hey man hows it goin?
ok heres the deal.
I have an HP Pavilion tx 1000 tablet PC. Ive had it for over a year and just recently these problems started occuring. NOTE: ive already deleted all my new programs cuz i thought it was one of them that was causing the problem.
For some strange reason, ALMOST everytime i download something( sometimes even updates), my laptop crashes and it sends me to this blue screen saying something about memory usage and something like MORE_EQUAL_LESS (something really close to that).

so im thinking i should install a new version of windows. My laptop already came with windows premium and ive been having alot of problems with it.
What do u recommend i do? and if so can u explain it cuzz im not really a computer genius. Thanks alot and id appreciate it if u helped.

peace!

Re: My laptop keeps crashing please help!

problems caused by the operating system would account for less than 10%
the other 90+% is down to the user and components

run memtest on the ram 1 stick at a time

http://www.memtest.org/

have installed sp1 yet

turn off the auto reboot
control panel /system/advanced/startup and recovery settings
then untick the auto reboot box
post any bsod error messages the computer freezes on in full
