Cry Acer Aspire 5100 Doesn't react at all

Hi. It's my first post so i hope I'll do it right. :-)

I've got 2 year old acer aspire 5100 on Vista.
Recently just died on me and when i turned it on again it wasn't responding to keybord, touchpad, usb, cd simply anything. The only thing that reacts is the power button. Is it a hardware or software problem?

Please help me if u can or at least tell me what can be possibly wrong.

Thanks.

Does the screen still come on?

I can turn it on and system is loading and everything. Screen is working but it doesn't react. u cannot type anyrhing or move mouse even with external devices. It's like th keybord, touchpad, usb ports werent there and i dont have the ps2 connection in it.

Can you still enter BIOS settings? Also have you tried booting into Safe Mode?

Have you tried using USB keyboard or mouse? Try to use a USB keyboard and just go into BIOS settings.

Re: Acer Aspire 5100 Doesn't react at all

Sorry I think it could be the motherboard. It could also be a mix of keyboard and mobo problems. May be try replacing the keyboard/touchpad first as it is cheaper than getting a motherboard. It would be good if that solves the keyboard problem. As for the defective USB, may be mobo replacement is needed.
