Laptop screen trouble
Hi guys,
My new company have provided me with a Toshiba Satellite L300D laptop which has had approximately 6 months use by another employee. When the laptop is turned on either from stand by or fully off it npowers up drives, fans etc and power light is on, however the screen doesn't come on? Also there then appears to be no way to turn it off again - have tried standard keyboard shortcuts and holding down the power button to no avail. Only option appears to be removing the battery and power cable which I am aware isn't doing the machine any good. Upon 2nd power up, i.e. after battery removal, the screen comes to life as it should? Has anyone heard of a problem like this or can you think of a reason it may occur? It happens everytime and always works 2nd time so I'm fairly certain these aren't random occurences? Any help is much appreciated, obviously I can still use it but the delay every time is frustrating and I would rather avoid too much damage/risk file loss from battery removal to often. Thanks, Ian |

Re: Laptop screen trouble
Hi, welcome to TSF
I've actually got a A600 which has the same problem, but only when it resumes from stand-by. Holding the power button in does eventually turn it off. Hibernation works fine though, might be worth a shot Set it to hibernate instead of stand-by when the lid is closed and see if it comes on.
